The Heinrich research group in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry is involved in the development of new drug candidates and molecular tools (tool compounds) for a wide range of medical and pharmacological applications. Increasingly, active ingredients are being used that have previously been recovered from existing drugs. Thanks to the constant expansion of the collection of used pharmaceuticals and the continuous optimisation of recovery processes, it is now possible to promote research and teaching throughout Germany by passing on active ingredients for use as research chemicals.
